Anecdote of the Jar, calligraphy, conceptual art, for National Poetry Month

For National Poetry Month, I calligraphed Wallace Stevens' Anecdote of the Jar, and placed it in an old pickle jar on a bench in front of my old grade school. I rewilded his poem and then took a photo of the slovenly wilderness that surrounded it. No idea who claimed it.

Book cover/prop of a hawk with Irish calligraphy, ca. 1999? Silk painting; dye & gutta, 9x12”

I needed to  illumine a binder for a poetry presentation, The writing is from An Tain Bó Cuailgne (I was translating it in order to learn Old Irish—quite possibly the hardest language I've ever attempted to study. Not many are conversant in Old Irish,)

Conceptual art piece, Ken Larsen's Thesis, Art and the Bourgeoisie

Conceptual art piece, Ken Larsen's Thesis, Art and the Bourgeoisie, a hand-calligraphed dissertation presented on ribbons attached to a sunhat, and read aloud to his thesis advisor, Bruce Hackett in J St. Park, Sacramento, CA, May, 1984. I got tired of Ken's procrastination, so I interviewed him, and then distilled the dissertation down into a dozen threads. Bruce read the entire dissertation aloud. It took us several walks around the park to complete the process. Ken got his MA. Wish I had a copy of it.
